Istvan Gaspar - "MY FIRST VISIT IN PLOVDIV" |
The following note was written by Istvan Gaspar, a 22 year-old student in tourism from Debrecen, Hungary on his last night visiting in Plovdiv. Istvan had found a 10-Stotinki coin in the street of his city and saw this as an omen that he should visit Bulgaria. He found the Plovdiv web site that I had built and maintained and wrote me looking for an inexpensive place to stay for a few days. I offered space in my apartment and on Thursday, September 13 of 2001 he arrived at the door, having taken a bus from Debrecen to Sofia and then the train on to Plovdiv. Istvan stayed with us 10 days and we were as sorry to see this enthusiastic young man leave as he was to go back to his home in Hungary. It was a great experience for all of us.

MY FIRST VISIT IN PLOVDIV I am very happy to this visit comes possible. I’ve never been to Plovdiv, and Bulgaria. Before my travelling, I heard some bad thing about this country. But most of them are not true. And I will tell it to my friends. I am sure I will go back this country (this city). And on my next trip I will visit to the Black Sea, I’m very courius about it. Plovdiv is a great place for young people. Here is all people are happy and everybody smile. The streets are a bit dirty, but it is normal for a person who lives in Hungary. Old town in Plovdiv is a very very good place with lots of cafeteria and restaurants. All parts of Plovdiv especially on main streets are a lot of place where you can buy food and drinks. I very like that in Plovdiv there are lots of events, concerts, etc. Another thing what I liked you can walking on the streets without afraid of somebody wants to robber, also at night. It is very great, maybe Sofia is different. In fact, after these days I can say this is a nice place with nice people. And the foods are very tasty :) In Bulgaria there are some traditions what are not known in Hungary. These traditions makes to this country so different, so beautiful and special in Europe. I have to say a BIG thx to RICHARD who makes this visit to possible. I hope this friendship will be neverending... Thx to Krassi and Richard to show this city and help me a lot about what are the things which I have to know. I will never forget that. I think I want to know more this country especially this city. Now I can say, I dont want to go home to Hungary. Now I am very sad because of it. (And I hope can to understand my words :) Sorry about the uncorrect sentences!)
