Here is Koprivshtitsa, nearly hidden in the Sredna Gorda mountains northwest
of Plovdiv. This Bulgarian Renaissance town is preserved and filled with homes
in the authentic style of the period. There are an unparalled 338 monuments of
the period's architectural style. In Koprivstitsa, the first shot of the April Rising
was fired in 1876, resulted in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878.
