This momument along Main Street, almost in front of the Municipal Building,
is of Stefan Stambolov. He became Bulgarian Prime Minister following the
Re-Unification of Bulgaria in 1885 and was reknown as a strong-handed ruler.
He is associated with the re-orientation of the country from Russia towards Austro-Hungary.
