Monuments to Bulgarian writers Petko Rachev Slaveykov born Nov. 17, 1827, in Turnovo, Bulgaria and Pencho Petkov Slaveykov, born April 27, 1866, in Tryavna, Bulgaria.

Father and son, both writers, who helped to enrich Bulgarian literature by establishing a modern literary language and introducing contemporary ideas from other European countries. The monuments are on square Slaveykov near their Sofia home. A portrait of Pencho Slaveykov is the main design on the front of the present-day Bulgaria 50 Leva banknote.
