Burgas is a Bulgarian port on the Black Sea. This city of almost 200-thousand inhabitants is famous both as an industrial center and as a tourist center. Burgas rivals Varna as the chief export port of Bulgaria and thus is an important commercial center. The name of the city has its origin from the Greek "Pirgos", then was changed by the Turks to "Burgos" and now "Burgas".

In a similarity to its neighboring Black Sea city to the north, Varna, the jewel of Burgas is the park along the sea, a pleasant place for walks in the summer.
