At the front gate of the St. George church at Apriltsi, this table reads in part "This memorial church was being built from 1895 to 1904. / Note: At that time, Bulgaria was a constitutional monarchy, under King Boris. /
The money for it was provided by the Bulgarian government, thanks to the intercession of the veteran combatant Radion Jossifov - a deputy to the Constituent National Assembly.
The building was erected by master Kaniu Denev of the town of Tryavna with the help of the local inhabitants. The icons were painted by Racho Tiholov from the town of Gabrovo. The King's portals are the work of an unknown master from the town of Tryavna. The Bishop's throne was made by Nikola Marangozchiata of the family of famous woodcarvers from Novo Selo."
