In early years, there was an old covered wooden bridge over the Osum River at Lovetch, but the river carried it away in 1872. Two years later, the self-studied master of genius craftsman master Kolyu Ficheto built up his famous covered bridge with 24 small workshops in it.
Unfortunately, the original bridge was destroyed by a fire in 1925. The present covered bridge shown in this picture is a close replica of it.
